Variety is the spice of life

Photography is a special kind of art. With the advent of smartphones, we can call everyone a photographer. Why not? I think that photography provides an opportunity to show the world your vision. It can be a situation or a person or an object. I am sure that different people will have different pictures - they will carry a different meaning or the picture itself.

My love story for photography, like most of my friends born in the USSR, was grafted from my parents. My dad was seriously into photography. Loaded and developed camera rolls, printed photos. He took photos of different life events - family, weddings, funerals, vacations, work, walks, etc. etc.

I remember evenings when my brother and I laid out photographs on the floor in a large room on a blanket to dry after processing. Or how we sat in a dark bathroom. It was a kind of sacrament to put a white sheet with a photograph in the solution and see how the image gradually appears on paper. Of course, sometimes the proportions of the chemistry did not always turn out right or the film was overexposed. But the process itself was fascinating and I remember it with great warmth.

My personal story began with the purchase of an expensive Nikon camera. Since 2004, among my friends, the fashion for the purchase of high-quality photographic equipment has begun. Every third had a SLR camera, and then disputes began about which camera is better - Cannon or Nikon.

When buying an expensive camera, it was somehow strange for me to use only automatic settings on it for portrait, movement, or for example, for the dark time of the day. And I signed up (guess where🙂), of course, for photo courses🙂

My favorite genre is reportage. When you are in an event, and you do not need to make any preliminary settings for the device.

All you need is attention and capture the moment. And not just to capture, but taking into account the composition and plus to put meaning. I think it's difficult. And there can be many shots. And strength and in general

I have nothing against photographing flowers and architectural monuments.

Many photographers say it's boring. But as my practice shows, these objects are not eternal in reality, so let them be at least for history.

I don't really like the portrait genre. More precisely, I don’t really like to make portraits🙂

I don’t know why, but sadness covers me from this🙂 I don’t really like to delve into people’s souls, and the portrait genre, as it seems to me, means revealing the inner part of a person.
